Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Botetourt Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
We believe there is one God, personal, infinite, perfect, and eternally existing as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and each person is equal in every divine perfection
(Ex. 20:2-3; 1 Cor. 8:6; Rev. 4:11).
(Ex. 20:2-3; 1 Cor. 8:6; Rev. 4:11).
Mankind
We believe man was made in God’s own image and fell into sin in Adam, is now a sinner both by nature and choice, and is incapable of any personal effort or merit for the attainment of salvation.
(Gen. 1:26-27; 3:1-6, 24; Rom. 3:10-19; Rom. 3-5).
(Gen. 1:26-27; 3:1-6, 24; Rom. 3:10-19; Rom. 3-5).
Salvation
We believe that salvation comes to man only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from any human merit, through His substitutionary atoning sacrifice and those who receive Christ by faith have their sins forgiven and have the promise of being kept by God’s power forever.
(Eph.2:8-10; John 1:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Eph. 1:7; 4:30)
(Eph.2:8-10; John 1:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Eph. 1:7; 4:30)
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe that those who have experienced salvation through personal faith in Christ are members of the “church which is His body”, and thus are eligible for baptism and membership in the local church. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and every local church has the right under Christ to govern itself (1 Cor. 12:12-14; Acts 2:41; Eph. 5:23; Acts 13:1-4).

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the verbally and fully inspired Word of God, the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to man, absolute in its authority, complete in its revelation, and infallible and inerrant in its content.
